Animal Soul has been called "21st Century Classic Rock." The music hits today’s ears like a rebirth of the archetypal forms of the 70s and 80s, a ravenous, wide-eyed rediscovery of what spewed rock ‘n roll from the primordial foam in the first place. Songwriters Anthony Braun and Abi Nicholas channel their varied creations from dreams, fugue states, and by misremembering melodies heard waiting on line at Starbucks. Their songs speak to universal experiences of yearning, disillusionment, class warfare, and a tenderness of the soul that cries “shaddap you;” love that uplifts, love that destroys, and of course, plain old falling in love.
